Highlights

• Our April Zoom meeting on the 21st will feature TRS member Dr. Gary Ritchie. His presentation “Flowers, and How They Changed the World” will be very interesting! The talk will deal with the evolution of flowers, focusing on flowers containing petals, and will explore the morphology and anatomy of different kinds of flowers, the various ways that flowers are arranged on plants, strategies for pollen dispersal, and non-flowering methods that plants use to reproduce themselves. More on pg 1.

• We are delighted to announce that we are soon to sign a contract for a space for an IN-PERSON 2022 Tacoma Rose Society Rose Show in the rotunda on the University of Puget Sound campus. Mark your calendars for Saturday, June 25, 2022. (TRS hosted the 2007 PNW District Show in this same space, and if you attended that show, you’ll remember what a nice venue it is. We are looking forward to holding our rose show there again.) Details on pg 2.

• The Puyallup Rose Society has rose fertilizer available for order. The 25lb bag is $17. Please call Karen Madsen to place your order. You will need to arrange a time to pick up the fertilizer at the Madsens’ home in Puyallup. Details on pg 6.
