A real treat this month: “Old garden roses you can grow in Tacoma area gardens” with Margaret Nelson, past president of the Heritage Roses NW Rose Society.

At our meeting on April 18 our featured speaker will be John. He will be telling us all about fertilizing our roses – especially in the Spring.

The March program will focus on planting, including containers, and a
review of spring fertilization. Share your methods with us so we can all learn more.

Our February program by John will focus on Spring pruning methods & tools. We will follow-up with the hands-on project in Pt Defiance on March 2 at 8.45 am.

Our Annual Banquet will be held on Saturday January 20.The dinner, starting at about 1pm, is potluck with a program about the history of TRS & its partnership with Pt. Defiance.

On Thursday, the 16th, we will be having our annual Rose Auction. Our meeting will start at 6:30 pm & the auction starts at 7:00 with Bruce as auctioneer.

It’s time to think about getting our roses ready for winter, so John will take us through the things we can do now to give our roses a healthy start next year.

Our monthly meeting starts with a discussion led by Bruce about what roses did especially well this year. Then Ava will show us how to do hardwood cuttings.
