		TRS Activities The public is always invited to participate in Tacoma Rose Society activities.
	Third Thursday of each month (Except January, July, August, and December)	Monthly Meetings Speakers at our monthly meetings through the year present programs on growing roses and rose activities
	First Saturday in March	Pt. Defiance Park Rose Garden Winter pruning of the park's rosebushes Hands-on pruning demonstrations 9:00 a.m. to noon Potluck luncheon at noon in the Lodge for all participants
	February and March	Nursery Presentations Tacoma Rose Society members will be at area nurseries to answer rose questions and help you select roses for your garden.
	Usually 3rd or 4th Saturday in March	Pt. Defiance Park Rose Garden Fundraising Sale (All proceeds from this sale support the park rose garden.) In the Pt. Defiance Park Pagoda - watch for the signs as you enter the park. 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
	Mid June to Early September	Summer "Deadheading" at Pt. Defiance Park Rose Garden Hmm, sounds ominous - "deadheading!" But really, it's not! Tacoma Rose Society members and guests help maintain the rose garden at the park, coming by once a week to remove the spent and fading rose blooms so the garden always looks its best, not only for visitors but also for the many weddings and celebrations in the rose garden. You are invited to help! Join us for Pruning at the Park Each Thursday, 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. June - September At the Pt. Defiance Park rose garden Want to help keep the rose garden looking great? Bring your pruners, kneepad, bucket, (and raincoat when needed), and join us at the park about 4:30 p.m. each Thursday beginning in late June or early July. We'll teach you proper rose pruning techniques and answer rose growing questions.
	June or July	TRS Rose Show The public is invited to enter roses in the show and to stop by to smell the roses. What a great opportunity to see the vast array of rose varieties. Plus, TRS members are there to answer rose questions and to help new exhibitors prepare and enter their roses in the rose show.
	June-September	District Rose Shows
	Third Thursday in November	November TRS Fundraising Auction Tacoma Rose Society members and friends donate rosebushes to our annual auction. Proceeds from this event support activities of the Tacoma Rose Society throughout the year.
